Trying The Special K Diet For My Quick Weight Loss Resolution

Well, it’s 2010 and it is that time for resolutions. I think the one thing that stands at the top of most people’s resolution list is to lose a certain amount of weight and quickly. I am no different than most, however, this tends to be an ongoing goal as opposed to just a New Years resolution. The idea of quick weight loss is very appealing, but I also want to be smart about it too. Just a few days ago I was watching TV and saw the commercial for Special K cereal and the Special K Diet that they have advertised in the past. The diet is about losing up to 6 lbs in two weeks by eating two servings of special k cereal a day with a ½ cup of skim milk for either breakfast and lunch or dinner. Now, there is more detail to the diet and I’ll get into the specifics in a minute. For me, I thought this would be the best way to start out the New Year. Losing 6 lbs in two weeks would be a good form of quick weight loss for me. I enjoy their cereal and it would help alleviate any sugar cravings I usually have throughout the day.
So the specifics are
- Meal #1 – Eat any Special K Cereal with 2/3 cup of skim milk along with your choice of fruit, or you can have a Special K protein meal bar or shake.
- Meal # 2 – Eat any Special K Cereal, Protein Shake, Meal Bar or Waffles (with 2 tablespoons of light syrup)
- Meal # 3 – Eat a normal meal. Now, obviously this doesn’t mean go load up on cupcakes, ho hos, or make a huge calorie packed meal. You want to eat healthy and be smart about your choices and portion control.
- Snacks – Oh yes, there is snacks! You can eat your favorite fruits and vegetables as additional snacks and you are allowed two other Special K snacks anytime during the day. This means a snack bar, cereal bar, crackers and a few other options.
- Drinks – You will drink beverage as you normally do but the idea is to eliminate high sugar drinks like soda and no alcohol.
Overall this doesn’t seem like a bad plan at all. I don’t think I could do this long term, but I guess that’s why it’s a two week plan. I think this is going to be the jump start I need for my quick weight loss goal in 2010. It’s all about taking that first step. I have to go grocery shopping and so I will start this plan on January 11, 2010. I hope you check back to see my progress as well as my updates about how I feel during the process.
